I know port 53 is bad to open but I don't know if my port 53 is open. I am not port forwarding anything to it, and scanning all "all service ports" at www.grc.com does not show my port 53 being open. However, when I run nmap on port 53 (nmap 192.168.1.254-p 53) it shows it as open. Which one is correct?

so i'm trying to learn a bit about ethical hacking and i decided to run an nmap scan on my dad's pc, i saw a port open with a service called "pando-pub" which i'm not familier with. according to the wikipedia article this is a torrent client, except my father never had a torrent client on his pc. further reading says that after this client went out of buisness in 2013 it was hijacked in 2014

You were absolutely right.I ran the port listener program, set it to 443 and initially it didn't see it, but once I turned off my Windows 10 firewall, it saw the port as being open. I'd still like to know what I'm doing wrong with respect to allowing the Windows 10 firewall to allow this port through.
